My husband and I have been living in our home for more than a decade now, and it has to be said many of the rooms are looking a bit worse for wear.

Unfortunately it would seem that both the bathroom and kitchen have reached the point of no return and now a total revamp is probably going to be required.

The dilemma is where is the best place to start? Currently there appears to be a vast amount of kitchens and bathrooms on the market. Should you be considering a modern theme, maybe traditional, or perhaps just go for the wow factor?

Currently some of our local DIY shops are offering great deals on their kitchens and bathrooms, but is buying at the local DIY store always the best decision?

It might be that you may be best suited buying from a specialist company. Currently some of the larger companies have some absolutely fantastic deals on offer. Even though you may seem to be getting a great deal, please bear in mind that these companies are still making a profit out of you. Why not have a go at pushing them to lower their prices just that little bit further, after all you have nothing to loose by trying.

When decorating any room, a really important factor is choosing the right accessories. Kitchen accessories can be have surprisingly striking effect on the room as a whole. They have to be just right and fit in with the style you have chosen for your kitchen. The bathroom is a much easier room to decorate. Accessories for the bathroom can be easily mixed and matched, and changed from month to month.

Now though if we decorate the kitchen and bathroom, our lounge is going to look a bit old and tired. Probably it could be a good idea to invest in some homeware. These could certainly brighten up the room and do not have to break the bank. With all this going on at home, it looks like it is going to be a busy couple of months ahead.
